Autism Communities Welcomes Our New Board Member Allison Kleinman, LCSW!
Allison brings a wealth of professional experience to Autism Communities as a long-term advocate for neurodiverse adults and their families. Throughout her early professional career as a social worker, Allison was struck by the challenges that neurodiverse adults endured in making friends, finding and retaining employment, and creating a path forward for the future. She has since devoted her career to enabling adults with I/DD to feel a sense of belonging and purpose and their parents/caregivers to experience peace of mind.
She is the founder and CEO of Future Centered Care, a care management company that works with adults with I/DD and mental health challenges to build meaningful, supportive and secure systems of care – for now and into the future. Previously, Allison was the founding director of The Jack and Shirley Silver Center for Special Needs at the Marlene Meyerson JCC in Manhattan where she worked for 13 years.
Allison is excited to join AC’s Board of Directors with a passion for facilitating housing with a sense of community in an inclusive setting. She is particularly looking forward to helping to explore and expand the ways in which Self Direction can be utilized. Allison appreciates AC’s resident liaison service and Club AC programming and hopes to find ways to ensure these opportunities are sustainable.
