Welcome to Autism Communities, a non-profit 501c3 organization founded in 2016 with a steadfast commitment to fostering inclusivity throughout Long Island, NY.
At Autism Communities, we partner with local developers and community stakeholders to offer affordable and creative housing solutions for neurodiverse individuals residing on Long Island. Our residents are empowered to live independently with the necessary support provided through their self-directed budget. In addition, we also provide innovative, inclusive social events and educational programs through our Club AC.
Our mission is centered on advocating for neurodiverse individuals as they embark on a journey towards independence. By facilitating their transition into neighborhood apartments along the south shore of Suffolk County, we witness firsthand the transformative impact of our work within autism communities. Seeing our residents thrive in their newfound independence fuels our dedication each day for individuals living with autism.
As the organization continues to evolve, we are expanding our reach to encompass individuals with both autism and intellectual developmental disabilities. This strategic growth enables us to provide innovative and sustainable housing solutions to a broader population in need.
Driven by our unwavering commitment to affordable and creative housing solutions, we are steadfast in our pursuit of inclusivity for neurodiverse individuals across Long Island. We believe in the power of passion and dedication, exemplified by our board members, staff, residents families, and partners within the autism communities.
Together, we can pave the way toward a more inclusive and accessible future for all.
